The weather is starting to heat up now with scorching days where the only escape is the beach, followed by hot, thunderstorm nights with sand in my sheets. My favourite time of year! This dress is from a few seasons ago but couldn't be more perfect to throw on in this heat. Off the shoulder and full of texture with ruffles (aptly named "Hello Cupcake"), versatile for casual on the beach to party frock at night. Paired with this amazing vintage tooled leather bag I picked up in San Francisco, and trusty Lucia's. Bring on the heat..

LA Photo Diary

After New York I flew to the West Coast to spend just over a week in California. Thanks to the beautiful Nicole of Gary Pepper Vintage, who invited me along on a mini road trip to San Francisco with her boyfriend Luke, and Emily of Little Black Book- but more on San Fran later! We spent our LA days wandering the smoggy city streets, seeing the typical tourist sights and over saturated, over sized everything that is Los Angeles. 

To be completely honest LA isn't my favourite place in the world, but just because it wasn't my cup of tea doesn't mean we didn't have fun. LA housed some of the best and cheap vintage I've ever come across, and we could have spent all day doing a potential movie montage at American Vintage. Instead, we blew hours trying on dozens of wigs on Hollywood Boulevard and yes, we invested in one each (mine is bright pink) which doubles as the perfect souvenir. Thrifting, strolling down Venice Beach, cocktails bigger than my head in West Hollywood and watching the sunset over the Hollywood Hills made for an actual 'holiday' feel post NY.
