Senorita

Wearing: Sass and Bide shorts, Sportsgirl jumper, Zu heels, Gloss bracelets

In an attempt to escape my safety staple wardrobe (and perhaps metaphor of life at the moment) I immersed myself in clashing colour and textures. Bold and bright geometric pattern with heavy embellishment of sequins, beading and studs. These Sass and Bide shorts are a crazy statement for such a tiny piece, and basically just fun to wear. Originally I planned to wear them for New Years Eve, but they were deemed inappropriate for the sit down dinner I had with my parents in Bali. They are yet to see a suitable outing, apparently I am waiting for an invite to a pants party.

Lover

Wearing: Lover dress, Zara heels and Tresor Paris bracelet.

If I had to choose one favourite piece of clothing to come out of 2012 that I completely adore- it would be this Serpent lace dress by Lover. First spotting it months ago I became obsessed with the french lace, draping and scalloped edges. I was so excited to be able to finish the year wearing it to a Balinese wedding overlooking another stunning sunset at Uluwatu. Due to the lens dilemma this was the only photo taken- I will re do this as a proper outfit post when I am home in Sydney- hopefully with a new lens!

I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve, and wish you all the happiness and health for 2012. Thank you for every single glance and growing support for Tuula this past surreal year - I cannot wait to see what happens & where Tuula goes over the next twelve months, but I'm even more excited to share it all with you.

Happy new year, and happy every day!

Karma

Wearing: Stylestalker dress, Witchery sandals, vintage belt, Michael Kors watch and Tresor Paris bracelet.

I've been lucky enough to witness some amazing sunsets around the world in my lifetime, but this was one of the most incredible. My first night here in Bali mother nature spoiled us. My jaw dropped as there were literally sections of sun rays littered across the fairy floss sky, and was getting better every second. It was also pointed out that my perfect summer maxi actually matched the amazing sky, holiday dressing doesn't get much better than that.

Unfortunately, my camera lenses were stolen from my hotel room yesterday so I only have limited  photos of my first 24 hours here. Hopefully I can figure out a way to get my hands on another camera, or miraculously win the lotto to buy more. Until then, I'm extremely sorry about the lack of posts I was otherwise hoping for!

Collector

Wearing: Zimmermann swimsuit, Stylestalker shirt, Asos rings.

I landed in Bali a few hours ago to bring in the new year, and cannot wait for some consistent sunshine. I have always had a weakness for swimsuits (but hate shoes) and was amazed to find this one piece. I have never found a one piece before that could fit my body as I'm very tall and long, but this fits like a dream. The lace cut out detail on the scalloped top also gives the illusion I actually have a bust.. Add a loose, undone shirt over the top for comfort- this is what I will be living in for the next week. I am what seems to be the last Australian to go to Bali, so if you have any shopping, food or sight seeing tips please let me know! Prepare for some island life posts :)

Adorn

Wearing: Topshop top, Zimmermann pants, Zara wallet and heels, YSL ring and Asos cuffs.

I took these photos a few weeks ago before the influx of sequins hit my outfits. Perhaps I'm inadvertently recommending a hundred and one ways to sequin-ize your wardrobe? Regardless of the overload, they really do bring this plain black tee to life and felt like the perfect casual meets night time match to these silk pants, rather than my usual go to of a blouse and boyfriend blazer.

Also- I just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy holidays with your loved ones. This is my favourite time of year as it feels like everyone goes out of there way to be nice to each other. If only Christmas was all year round!

Bloglovin'

Whenever I'm away travelling I find it hard enough to stay updated with my own blog, let alone my personal favourites. There are so many great blogs these days that when I feel like I'm the last to know, I can trust it will be resolved in a matter of moments of logging in to Bloglovin' and seeing the list of new posts on my home screen. Personally- my favourite thing about this site is being able to see the diversity of blogs from countries all over the world, that I have travel memories from or wanderlust pangs to take Tuula to. It is truly the only platform that keeps me both in the loop and constantly inspired by getting to know the people, places and content. Bloglovin' is also available as an app on your iphone- which is where you'll find my head buried and catching up in airport terminals!

Make sure to follow Tuula, and your other favourite blogs on Bloglovin'!

Accordion

Wearing: Magdelena Velevska skirt, Aqua dress, Asos clutch, Zu heels, NARS Jungle Red lipstick.

I first spotted this work of art by Magdelena Valevska back during her show at RAFW earlier this year, and from the moment these asymmetrically cut knife pleats came down the runway she raised the bar not only for pleats, but for skirts altogether. How can something so architecturally blunt still be light and flowing? I've paired it over this backless bodycon dress, while the indented cut at the front frames together with the skirt perfectly.

Savannah

Wearing: Zimmermann dress, Agent 99 top, Lee shorts, Zu heels, Michael Kors watch.

It occurred to me a few days ago that I don't own any denim shorts. Coming in to Australia's summer, this needs to be corrected asap. I have tried to steer clear of them for how they are often worn- far too short, and with a 'crop top', which is extremely unflattering on anyone. After borrowing my friends shorts (Thanks Mel...) I've tried to update the white singlet and denim short combo with a bit of class, adding these bow tied heels and silk cape that is actually an undone maxi wrap dress. Versatility that looks liquid with a breeze.

Splice

Wearing: Magdelena Valevska top, Fleur Wood shorts, Michael Kors watch, Jeffrey Campbell wedges, Asos rings, clutch from markets.

My wardrobe interpretation of Sydney's confusing weather at the moment is "long and short", by having to wear a long top and short bottoms or vice versa. I'm obsessed with the versatility of structured tops and fell in love with this neon pink one by Magdelena Velevska. I usually stay well clear of pink and neons in general as it does crazy things to my hair, but it feels so refreshing and high hoped for summer by being so bold and bright. Made wearable by pairing with the amazing cut out lace detail of these shorts.

Melbourne Photo Diary

I needed a time out recently and managed to book some cheap flights to Melbourne, for a weekend away. As an avid traveller I am always tempted to book flights overseas on a whim of great escape, but find all I need it to fly a single hour away from Sydney. I barely took any photos despite lugging my huge camera around everywhere, but it was simply because I was having too good of a time wandering the streets and spending every moment laughing with old friends (the only downside was someone stealing $400 from my wallet...). Apologies there are not many snaps but I thought this would be a better insight then none at all.
