A little peek into my island life in Bali over new years. Thankfully I managed to take a few snaps in the first 24 hours otherwise I wouldn't of had photos from this trip- that is besides mental visuals of the stunning dusk skies. From beach bumming in Uluwatu, cocktails at Potato Head, window shopping in Seminyak and temples in Ubud it was great finally seeing why so many Australians go there. I understand now the desire to go for a 'by the pool' hotel cheap holiday, but I'm not sure I'll be going back anytime soon. Or at least, will travel differently. It might be the part of me that is used to travelling - backpacking and hostels around Europe, living the cheaper, more exciting and appreciative mode of travel. If I ever get back to Bali, it will be to explore the mountains and amazing islands with a backpack and disposable camera.

In an attempt to escape my safety staple wardrobe (and perhaps metaphor of life at the moment) I immersed myself in clashing colour and textures. Bold and bright geometric pattern with heavy embellishment of sequins, beading and studs. These Sass and Bide shorts are a crazy statement for such a tiny piece, and basically just fun to wear. Originally I planned to wear them for New Years Eve, but they were deemed inappropriate for the sit down dinner I had with my parents in Bali. They are yet to see a suitable outing, apparently I am waiting for an invite to a pants party.
