Times

Wearing: Michael Lo Sordo dress, Marcs clutch, Zara heels and Factorie ear muffs.

I took these photos weeks ago in the depths of New York winter, when sometimes the only way to combat the numbing cold is with black on black, on top of black. This might seem like just a little black dress at first, but it is an incredibly versatile invisibility cloak for the dozens of layers I was wearing underneath. The dress's layered asymmetrical cut and mix of wool with pleated leather contrast is perfect for aiding winter night or event outfits, or perhaps below freezing early morning moments in Times Square like I was silly enough to brave here.

Met

Wearing: Lover Serpent Lace dress, Tony Bianco heels, Tresor Paris bracelet.

When my friend James asked if I wanted to shoot some photos at The Met yesterday I immediately asked, "but are we allowed to"? It turns out no, we were not. We only managed to take a dozen shots while trying out lighting before we were told to stop. Somehow, the extraordinarily talented James Nord managed to get these while I was casually strolling the European Sculpture & Decorative Arts wing (as one does in red French lace).

I know I have worn this dress a similar way before but I still love it as much as the day I bought it, and despite not being able to get away with wearing on a regular basis I feel that it was the perfect investment piece. I have worn it to events, nights out and a wedding, and it deserves every compliment it receives. I would say it is the boldest and most evocative dress I own, but paired with understated heels and accessories it is my personal favourite too.
