Splice

Wearing: Magdelena Valevska top, Fleur Wood shorts, Michael Kors watch, Jeffrey Campbell wedges, Asos rings, clutch from markets.

My wardrobe interpretation of Sydney's confusing weather at the moment is "long and short", by having to wear a long top and short bottoms or vice versa. I'm obsessed with the versatility of structured tops and fell in love with this neon pink one by Magdelena Velevska. I usually stay well clear of pink and neons in general as it does crazy things to my hair, but it feels so refreshing and high hoped for summer by being so bold and bright. Made wearable by pairing with the amazing cut out lace detail of these shorts.

Wearing: Magdalena Velevska top, Zara skirt and boots, Asos satchel, Michael Kors watch, YSL ring and lipstick.

While at NYFW it was quite impossible to be in any photos- so this outfit post is from home of what I wore on day 4. Before I left for NY I had my fingers crossed tightly for one show in particular- Alexander Wang. I found out the day beforehand while I was sitting in the back of my taxi checking emails, and I remember squealing with happiness. I might of still been quite giddy when I chose this outfit as I decided to have some fun with it and wear nearly all of the colour I could find in my suitcase.

I had my first experience with Magdalena Velevska at RAFW here, and was honoured to wear such a talented Australian designer's piece to NYFW. The contrast of the neon orange embroidery made the solid pink skirt pop even more. As well as the eerily perfect fit and cut of the sleeves- the print is unusual and intricate enough to be mesmerising without being absurd.

Shakuhachi RAFW

Fun, flirty, sleek and sexy styles from Shakuhachi's "Block Party". All trends for Spring/Summer were covered from colour blocking, matching separates, neon bright, tan leather, embellishment & tassles. My favourite piece was a pair of white lace mini shorts I couldn't snap a photo of in time, but will accompany the rest of my Shakuhachi piece's in my wardrobe come Spring.

Magdalena Velevska RAFW

One of the biggest surprise collections for me was Magdalena Velevska's 'Continuum'. Ultra modern, pin fine pleating in neon colours, and a gorgeous take on her heritage Macedonian embroidery. My new found love of these pieces continued with the UV light installation during the finale, where the fluorescent garments glowed. Before this show I was uneasy with neons becoming a huge trend, but now can see how beautiful, distinctive and wearable they can be when made and worn as well as Magdelena's.
