venezia xo

picturesque venice, where one day was thunderstorms and canal flooding, the next welcomed perfect weather and blue skies. with only one day to soak in all venice had to offer, it was more a snap happy day of wandering the streets and bridges without maps, eating too much gelati and being in awe of just how different this city is to any other in the world.
i have been to venice before, and this time went with my first timer friends. i love seeing people’s reactions to somewhere new, watching them taking in the canals, bridges, flowers and romance. it really is a world of its own. i certainly can’t imagine growing up or living here!
shopping was thrown out the window when we only had a few hours , and to be honest i’m not too certain there would be any vintage or second hand stores here, but still.. i had a few moments of window shopping around the piazza san marco… i was tempted by the coral rings photographed below, until i peeked at the 900euro price tag! i decided to stick to postcard souvenirs instead :)
ending the day with a gondola ride literally gave me shivers, it makes me so happy to have places like this in the world where we can go and experience something so different and beautiful, that we may never get somewhere similar again.
